The best coaching book on my shelf I probably have seven or eight coaching books on my shelf. Coach Anyone About Anything has been the most helpful book I've read for establishing a coaching business. I have a part time coaching business and have been trained by a nationally recognized and respected Christian coach training organization. This book has given me fresh insights that make so much sense, but that I have not come across in either my training or my other reading. I am restructuring my coaching business from the foundation of re thinking and re writing my coaching philosophy to re defining the niche market that I really enjoy working with. Because of this book, now, when someone asks me what life coaching is about or what I do I will be ready with a concise, well thought out and powerful response. Ned and Germaine are great. I consider this a "must read" for business and life coaches.
A wonderful resource for new and seasoned coaches alike When my boyfriend first handed me this book I was unentuhused, "Yet another book about coaching??" As a Peak Performance Expert, Master NLP practitioner and a Master Life Coach for The Certified Coaches Federation, I've read tons and tons of books on empowering others to succeed. As such, when I first cracked open this book I did so with little expectation of learning anything "new". I must must confess, however, that I was dead wrong...and dutifiully humbled. This book was filled with wonderful gems of insight and many innovative exercises and ideas. It will be a resource that I will return to again and again to use with my clients. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this book.
Good for Coaches Best for every body I have read lots of books and articles about coaching, but no one like this.
The way the content is presented forces you to learn, to keep reading and feel confident.
After every chapter you can read an inspirational thought.
The way the book has been constructed, to use a visible expression, shows author's interest of teaching in a simple fashion way. The graphs are very good and the content very well organized.
Every coach should have this book.
A MUST-READ for All Who Desire Successful Results Coaches, Leaders, Parents, Teens, Educators, Employers, Employees, Anyone with a Pulse:
If you genuinely care about your success or the success of another...If you or someone you love desires better...You can save yourself the frustration of trying to figure out which book will deliver results.
Chapter Six is my favorite. By itself, it stands above the crowd and shows the way to achievement by teaching how-to:
+ Improve Knowledge
+ Sharpen Skills
+ Build Confidence
+ Motivate - Others & Yourself
+ Discover why most people don't take the action they need to succeed.
+ Who wouldn't want to know this?
Though the utility of some of the charts are not immediately obvious, they quickly become useful tools because the authors present solid substance and real-world examples over fluff and fiction.
This book is easy to read and the proven methods are easy to implement.
For yourself or someone you love, I highly recommend is as an opportunity to grow into the life you desire. You can make a difference. Will you?
There are better books around on coaching If you think on starting to coach co-workers, family, friends, team, thumb around and look for another book. The authors start mentioning you can read the book from cover to cover (what I did). I would recommend reading it upside down.
Writing is not clear enough, and, unless you are an experienced and enthusiastic coach, nothing will make sense for you.
On their defense I have to say the version I read was translated into Portuguese and some of the essence may have been lost in the process.
