 Real Advice from a Real Manager

 Very straight forward approach.
Follow Laura's outline, and your finished product will impress yourself and potential employers. Straight forward and easy to follow guidelines for creating a resume.
Excellent Advice
Laura has very effective advice on how to improve one's resume with changes that can be done instantly. Her advice is better than any book I have read on the subject of improving your resume. It is also effective enough that one can take her advice from the DVD and apply it to job interviews and cover letter content. Her examples are specific and very useful.
Her presentation is about listening to what she has to say rather than showing the audience an example of what she thinks is a good resume and having everyone conform to that example. I've actually been to speakers that do this and have read articles that suggest this as well. It's not helpful, to say the very least.
I would've liked to have Laura for a guidance counselor were I still in college. She needs a good video/audio production team to take her advice to the next level.
Best resume writing guide on the market
This DVD helps people develop effective and powerful resumes. I highly recommend it. I learned a lot, especially about leaving the objective OFF my resume. While this was a surprising technique, Laura Simms turned out to be right. Since she helped me with my resume 20+ years ago, I have kept it up to date by using her techniques and buying this video to remind me of the principles. In addition, I have watched many people get jobs because of the tips she gives, and I evaluate resumes based on criteria she describes (I am a hiring manager).
Great ideas, great tools!
This video is presented in a straight forward no nonsense fashion, no gimmicks, tricks or flashy video just good solid information which is what I liked the most.
I found one of the suggestions in conflict with what we all think is the right thing to put on a resume and after some thought it became obvious why it made no sense at all and can be potentially confusing to the person who is reading it!
I like this video a lot and recommend it to anyone who is preparing a resume. I have no doubt mine was significantly better after revising it using Laura Simms information.
Great suggestions from someone who actually hires people based on their resume.
